James Howard McHenry papers
This collection contains the James Howard McHenry papers, dated 1810-1885. The vast majority of the collection is composed of family and business correspondence, but there are also scrapbooks, clippings, and ledgers.
James Maughlin diary
This collection contains the Civil War diary of James W. Maughlin (1837-1869), third engineer on the gunboat steamer "Kineo" as it supported Admiral Farragut's fleet in the Mississippi between New Orleans and Port Huron. The diary contains a daily record of the events between January 1, 1863 to July 29, 1863. Also included in this collection is a typed transcript of the diary with footnotes, and a photograph of James W. Maughlin, circa 1861.
James Ryder Randall poetry collection
This collection contains both handwritten poetry and newspaper clippings of published poems by James Ryder Randall (1839-1908), author of "Maryland, My Maryland", circa 1858-1865, and undated.

The manuscript was published in the same year by Kelly, Hedian & Piet by the title, "The Bastiles of the North". The collection also contains appendices to the manuscript, two Civil War scrapbooks, ephemera, and a carte de viste photograph of Sangston.
